John Botts' Moose Hunt

Good area, very nice camp, meals were excellent, and guides were great.  Fred was a great outfitter and guide on this hunt.  I ended up killing my 45" wide Moose on my last day of hunting! - John Botts

Bob Nelson's Hunt with Jeff Burwell

I took my Moose, Dall sheep, and Grizzly Bear.  Great area! Manages his resource for long term continuing success.  Great Organization!  Outstanding guides, best as a group I’ve seen!  Wonderful food and camp atmosphere; all outfitters advertise that and Jeff delivers.  Good stock and equipment.  What else can I say… simply the best hunt and outfitter I’ve been associated with!  Not just my successful hunt either.  Eleven hunters in camp – eleven good bulls back in camp by the 5th day.

Absolutely no weak points!! My only concern would be Jeff staying booked up so that I would never have the opportunity to hunt with him again.  I surely want to return someday – hopefully soon!

Steve Hindley's Moose Hunt

Attached are a couple of “hero” shots from a successful moose hunt this fall with Stoney River Outfitters, Alaska.  The dates of my hunt were 9/13-24.  Our group of (4) moose hunters took (3)…. 70”, 67” & 60”.  The group that preceded us took (2) for 4…. 65” & 55”.

Curly and Betty Warren run an incredible operation.  Base “camp” is their very comfortable lodge and cabins.  Meals were wonderful, prepared by a full time on site chef.    Spike camps were well served from the lodge with food and supplies as needed.  Guides for the most part have been with the operation for several years up to 20+, and know their business and the hunt sites very well.

I personally hunted moose (4) days and a grizzly (4) day...

Kodiak Brown Bear Hunt 2008

I want to thank you for lining me up.  He did a first class job outfitting the guide and me for the spike camps.  Dustin, the young guide, was excellent in all aspects - finding and spotting bears at extreme distances, then judging their fur for rubs and the overall size.  He was able to see a bear the size of flea on a mountain a mile away.  Then he cooked meals, made sandwiches for lunch and hiked the hills with legs of steel.  All the food and equipment was very good: from the float rafts to the tents to the fresh meat for dinners, all great… no freeze dried meals.
The hunt was a 15 dayer, and by day 13 both of us were tired and a little discouraged.  We had seen only 18 bears and only one shooter on day 3, which saw us and went ”up and over” a ...
