Bob Fritz Returns from Zimbabwe
Hi, Keith,

Here are my thoughts on my recent safari in Zimbabwe.  In a nutshell I hope to go again, maybe in 2013, and if I do it will be with the same outfitter.

His area, which is all of Dande North except for a strip that is leased by another PH, is absolutely crawling with cats.  I hunted mostly in the southern half (Mukanga).  It's difficult to drive along the dirt road for more than 1/2 hour or so without spotting fresh leopard or lion tracks.  There are also a lot of buffalo, herds of as many as 50 or 60.   One very nice thing, compared with a camp at Binga, was that  there are not natives living in most of this area.

Hunt in the Caprivi Strip 2010

Wanted to pass along my sincerest thanks for recommending and arranging a simply fabulous two weeks in Namibia with Jamy Traut and Eden Safaris.  Just as you indicated, it is a perfect choice to combine dangerous and plains game into a single hunt.  Jamy and his lovely bride host a wonderful operation.  I felt welcomed and comfortable from the moment I left customs until it was time to reboard for the trip home.  Their PH's are terrific professionals and the the staff is simply the best.
 
Obviously, the old Dugga Boy was the highlight of the hunt.  As you can see by the photos, he was a huge old warrior.  Carrying a massive boss and a 42 inch spread, he is likely a bull of a lifetime.  We happened upon him near sunset on the edge of a va...

I can’t think of a single thing they didn’t do to help us have an enjoyable and successful hunt. 
As I stated on the questionnaire I stated before our hunt that my goal was to have a great, once in a lifetime, hunting experience with my son.  Our hunt was indeed all of that. (although we want to do it again – once in a lifetime is not enough!)

Our guide, Bryan Clines, was simply wonderful – he worked his tail off for us.  He was very knowledgeable about the game we were after, as well as the ranch we were hunting.  I don’t think I ate so well for five days in a row in my life!  Patsy Snodgrass is a wonderful cook and we truly ate like kings!  The other hunters in camp w...
